History

Coldwater Roofing is a local family owned and operated roofing contracting firm. The company was formed in 2006 by Steve and Debbie Houston. Coldwater Roofing currently holds a combination Commercial/Residential Roofing License (K-42) with the State of Arizona. Specializing in residential and small commercial re-roofing projects, Coldwater’s services are designed to meet each homeowner and small business owner’s specific roofing needs from conception to completion. From small business owner to homeowner we treat everyone with the same respect, honesty and integrity that we expect to be treated with. We install roof systems we are be proud to say we installed. Coldwater Roofing, LLC. was voted the 2009 Arizona Roofing Contractor of the Year.

Owner

Steve Houston has been living in the greater Phoenix area since 1984. He has been active in the construction industry since moving to Phoenix from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in 1984. Steve proudly served in the United States Army, his last tour of duty saw him assigned to the U.S. Army Field Artillery Training Center. Located at Ft. Sill outside of Lawton, Oklahoma he was assigned as a Cadre member of Echo Battery 5th Training Battalion. Responsible for the small weapons training of the newly enlisted soldiers receiving their Individual Tactical Training (Basic Training). He received his retirement as a decorated Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Sergeant E-5 after receiving the Army Accommodation Metal in May of 1982.

Steve has been employed by several different roofing contractors since moving here and starting his own business. He was employed as an installer by W.C. Collum Roofing Co. He left there to go to Universal Roofers where he was employed as an estimator. Steve has served as the Sales Manager for Scott Roofing Company, and he also served as Vice President of Specialty Roofing Company. At Specialty Steve was responsible for the Day to Day operations and installation of 2500-3500 new roof projects per year in the New Construction Concrete tile market.

Steve founded Coldwater Roofing, LLC. in October of 2006 and licensed the company in 2007 with his lifelong friend and wife Debbie Houston. Since that time Coldwater Roofing has started and completed a wide variety of commercial and residential projects including Sun City Recreation Centers, Library (Bell Road) and Apollo Animal Hospital along with hundreds of individual homeowners re-roofing projects.

Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA), where he is active with the association in their support of Youth at Risk. He has also served on the board of directors of the Valley's chapter of Rebuilding Together.
